Hey folks,

We've been getting reports that some users are getting an error when pressing save after editing their playlist (name, description, cover art) on the Web Player.

Hey there @hi1234562

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community, and welcome 🙂

We'd first recommend clearing your browser's cache and cookies to see if it makes any difference.

You could also give it a try using a different browser.

Keep us posted on how it goes.

My Question or Issue

Every time I try to change playlist details (title, description, or cover) I get the pop-up "failed to save playlist changes" message.

Screenshot 2021-06-09 4.44.51 PM.png

Hitting "save" again does nothing of course. I've tried closing the tab, and logging out and back in completely, but neither works. Altering playlist details on old playlists doesn't work either. I can make new playlists, but they default to the "My Playlist #__" or the name of the first song added and I can't switch it from that. This has been a problem for over 24 hours; I thought waiting overnight might do something, but it hasn't.

Please fix this.

Thanks, now it is working...

Same error message for me in the web player on a premium account. But editing is ok in the Desktop version.

The same is going on for me.... whenever I want to change a playlist's name, description or cover it fails... I've tried this in Chrome's web player, before and after cleaning its cache, and Opera's.

Hi @Elena ,

perhaps that issue is related to my one i posted few days ago:

https://community.spotify.com/t5/Spotify-for-Developers/error-500-on-create-playlist/m-p/5220899

It seems some post requests have random empty request bodies, and I am getting a

Post "https://api.spotify.com/v1/users/userxyz/playlists": http: ContentLength=78 with Body length 0

even the required fields are filled...

(using latest chrome on latest windows10/mac os)

Cant save/edit/create new playlists. Tried all the suggestions (clearing your browser's cache and cookies, re-installing apps,) did this on both my mac and phone. Its been weeks of writing to several agents with no fix. Why am I paying for a service that doesn't work.

Same issue here.

- emptied cache in browser, uninstalled all apps, logged out of all aps, removed all 3d party apps

All playlists created in the last year or so - names disappearing consistently, impossible to rename the playlists.
