Web Player skips every song on playlist

Status: Not An Issue

Web player skips every song in playlist on Internet Explorer. Desktop app, android and iphone all work just fine. Ive cleared cache and cookies, logged out and back in, restarted router and laptop....any other suggestions

The new version of the Web Player is only available in Chrome and Firefox, so if you open the player from a different browser, it'd load the old version which might not work properly since we're moving into a new version.

@MonicaM_Bogota Myself and a friend are also having the same issue in internet explorer.  Unfortuantely it is our only option at work due to admin rights etc.  Everything is upto date, and was working perfectly fine until now.  Logged out and in again and cleared cookies and cache.  Cannot do much else given the access restrictions on our machines.  I have been informed nothing has been changed in terms of firewalls, access restrictions etc by our IT department.

Can you try the following?

 

  1. Open play.spotify.com in a different browser (if you’re on Internet Explorer, try Chrome for example).
  2. Open play.spotify.com in a private browsing session.
  3. If this works, it means you need to clear your cache/cookies. Please refer to your browser’s help section for instructions.
  4. Sign in as a different Spotify user and check if the same thing happens.
  5. Connect to the site over a different network.

If another network works okay, check the firewall settings of the first network to make sure Spotify isn’t blocked.

@MonicaM_BogotaI logged in with another account and still have all of the same problems. The right bar never loads. I can't hear any music and I can see visually that the song skips every 10 seconds. I'm still trying play.spotify.com on Internet Explorer 11. Thanks.

@Monica_L tried the desktop app and songs keep skipping can't play a thing. I hope this gets fixed fast.

@ZullyB @MonicaM_Bogota the webplayer seems to be working again. I still got the same problem wih the desktop app. As you can see in the clip I made I keeps skipping every song. Tried it on win10 and win server 2008R2. Any suggestions?
