WebPlayer has stopped scrobbling to Last.Fm

I just noticed the WebPlayer has stopped scrobbling. I don't for how long this has happened, but it is really annoying. One of the main reasons I liked Spotify so much was that it automatically scrobbled my songs to Last.fm, no matter the player. At work I cant't download the desktop app, so I have to use the WebPlayer. I searched for help, but the support site doesn't help at all. Hey @cesarotos and welcome to our Community!

The Web Player has been rebuilt to be simpler to use, and also simpler to own, operate and iterate on.  We’ve removed several features that were found to have low usage or no impact on key metrics and one of them is the Last.fm integration.

We hope that this has clarified the situation 🙂

Well, I'll have to rethink my subscription then. 🙂

how did u think that lastfm is a low used thing on web spotify?

There are thousands who do that! please bring it back!

Your official answer is a slap in the face to all Last.FM users. How ignorant against the customers Spotify can be? Impertinent! The truth is perhaps, you are too lazy or stingy for a solid developement work.

So, that means we now must stick to a desktop or android app. Nice job Spotify, as Andreas_Wotte said, your official answer is a slap in the face to all Last.FM users.

Thank you Samson! When we go back to 2012, when Spotify started the collaboration with Last.FM, LFM was needing a music source and Spotify more subscribers and users. That was the deal - a win win situation. But now, that a lot of the old Last.FM streaming users like you and me and many many others have become subscribers of Spotify, it looks like Spotify has forgotten the old gentleman agreement. Once they have won new paying LFM customers, habituated to the 10 bucks service, they ask something like: "Scrobbling - who cares? We give a shït on it and hope, this will clearify the situation."

kazimoftarsus

and they tag our concern as "not an issue" without giving a proper reason

Samson-91

Don't forget they flag the complaint as not a problem. That tells enough why Spotify receives so much disrespect. What's the point of having a customer service, if you all gonna is ignoring the problem?

Bring it back ffs!!!

argymeg

+1 for bringing it back, this completely negates the usefulness of having a web player for me as I'm simply not going to use a music player that doesn't scrobble.
