[Webplayer] Blank Screen When I Try To Add Track To Playlist






(iPhone 8, Samsung Galaxy 9, Macbook Pro late 2016)

Operating System

(iOS 10, Android Oreo, Windows 10,etc.)


My Question or Issue

Using the Web Player with Chrome and Edge, when I try to add a track to a playlist, all the content disappears, and I'm left with a blank (dark grey) screen in that tab.

Same for me, on PC, Windows, tried it in Firefox, Chrome, tried it in incognito, updated everything, still blanks out.


Device: Windows 10  Laptop

Browser: Google Chrome

I can add songs by going to the bottom of a playlist and using the recommended songs and pressing "Add", but when i search a song and try to add, the screen goes blank, but the song playing still plays. If I press back, it stays blank, and the only way to get it back is to refresh.2019-05-16.png


Same issue here.

  • Device - HP laptop running Windows 7
  • Browser - Chrome Version 74.0.3729.157  (just updated, no change)
  • When I right click on the three dots, and choose "add to playlist," the browser window goes black.  Other tabs are fine, and music keeps playing, but the screen doesn't recover until I refresh. 
  • Screenshot - It's black?  There's nothing to see.  Right clicking does nothing.

Used both Chrome and Firefox

Also tried incognito modes and made no difference

Please fix asap.


Firefox (latest) on Linux (latest kernel) and macOS (latest) same issue. All attempts to add track to playlist result in a window with a blank screen

Code is minified and I can't tell exactly what the issue is


I'm on a chromebook on the web player


Same issue. Windows 10 and Chrome browser. Screen goes to black when I select "add to playlist' for a song. Screen stays black when I click on back button. Spotify screen only returns when I hit refresh.

Windows 10, chrome, web browser, same error. right click -> add to playlist, screen goes blank, only refreshing brings back spotify page

Same issue.  Dell PC/Firefox Private Mode and Chrome Incognito/Windows 10.
