Where did search and sorting go?

My Question or Issue

Today I noticed that I can no longer search or sort in my playlists. Usually I could just scroll to the top and then a bit more to access this but it's completely gone. It's currently sorted for latest added and it's impossible to sort through over a thousands songs for a specific one I want to listen to.

We are reporting that there have been some changes in how to preform searches within a playlist. You can access the search bar by going to the three-dot menu.

I just updated to 8.4.82.664 from the above version I originally posted about and, the option is still missing.  I am really hoping this is a bug that will be fixed and not a permanent change to the interface.  It is infuriating.  How about you pour your programming efforts into things that actually don't work like shuffle and, leave fully functional things alone.

Nope, this is f@$#ing stupid.  Now we have to post in the idea exchange to get back a useful feature they arbitrarily took away?  Ideas are to improve not to try and fight to get something back that should never have been taken away.  In all my years of using Spotify I have never come here to complain despite not really digging a lot of changes that are made.  This however is a f@#ing deal breaker. I would love for the people who floated and then approved this sh#t show of an idea to come to the forum and defend this decision.  I would LOVE to hear the rationale.

Hello! This also happens on my end. I'm on Spotify version 8.4.84.126 and my Android version is 8.1.0. I'm using a Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017). Hope you can take a look 🙂

Adding the "Find in Playlist" option within the three-button menu is way more cumbersome then pulling down the playlist to reveal Filter/Sort. I have been a loyal Premium Member for over 7 years but I'm sincerely considering moving away from Spotify due to this change. How was the case made that this would be a good idea? It takes more steps to accomplish the same task; when is that ever good UX? Can someone please link me with this request in the ideas exchange so I can vote for it? I was not able to locate it.

To add to the frustration, the feature still exists for my Discover Weekly playlist. What a tease 😞
