Why does the radio base everything off my entire catalog?

Whatever I do, spotify radio includes more than I ask for. Example: I choose an obscure New-York artist, and create a radio. Now, that radio also includes songs of an obscure Dutch band I like. I like them, but I don't want to listen to them when I create a radio based on something totally different.

Why does spotify radio include all this, and how do I turn it off?

Thanks for letting us know that @RPils!

Hey @RPils, welcome to the Spotify Community!

We’d like to know a bit more about what’s happening. Can you let us know what’s the device, operating system and version of Spotify you’re using? We’ll see what we can suggest.

We’ll be waiting for your answer.

Hi @RodrigoPalma, thanks for your quick reply.

Somehow I feel that this is built-in behaviour, and it is not restricted to my device/OS/etc. But hey, what do I know! Who knows we can figure this out together 🙂

This is the same example, more specific:

I use a windows 7 laptop with spotify 1.0.43.123.g80176796.

I am Dutch, and thus have a lot of dutch music in my lists (amongst a lot else)

I go to "Julian Velard", who is not ... I'm stopping here and changing my comment.

This artist is American, and not very famous in that. So I was confused as to why an artist like that would have a radio station with a lot of dutch guys. Now it turns out that he sort of gained fame in the Netherlands a few years ago. That explains the dutch suggestions. I have tried a few different artists and it seems to be okay, actually. I guess I should close this, thus. Thanks anyways!
