Disabling Internet Connection Sharing has been a successful workaround for many users

Spotify just stopped working for me today. I see it pop up in the task manager, and if I attempt to open it multiple times, I find multiple instances in the task manager. I just started using this computer last week. I'm almost fully updated. I had been connected to a network before I even installed Spotify. I haven't run the program for a few days, so I can only assume that this is where the problem lies, but I only set up the media server on the network last night, and now this. I haven't tried turning off the server since I didn't realize the connection until finding these threads.

Windows 8 as been release in october 2012 and windows phone 7.5 for longer and still no updates of the spotify software.

Does not work well on windows 8 and is very bugy on windows phone Spotify release version 0.6.4.108!!!! is that still a beta version? (Music does not cach localy for exemple = unusable without WIFI access)

When can we expect to get working updates?

Support for Windows Phone 7 was discontinued when the Windows Phone 8 application was launched, so there will be no more updates to that application. The official topic is here.

Yes, I am STILL having this issue.
Windows 8 was released October 26, 2012 and here we stand March 16, 2013 and still Spotify has issues with Windows 8.
I've been running Windows 8 Professional on ALL my work computers and personal computers.

Spotify goes unresponsive after about 30 seconds of streaming and you cannot kill the process. Access Denied.
I've literally tried every fix mentioned on ALL the discussion threads about this issue.

*Modifying the permissions of the Spotify AppData folders
*Running in compatibility mode
*installing / running in compatibility mode
*Disabling hardware acceleration
* Re-installing as Administrator / Running as Administrator
* Re-installing my Operating System completely!
*Attempted using different sound drivers
* Re-installed recommended sound drivers
*Disabled Internet Connection Sharing (Which wasn't enabled anyway)
*Baked your mother a pie, made some tea and gave her a foot massage.

Nothing works, I've been paying for Spotify Premium since it was first offered.
It's really frustrating, getting no answers from Spotify Support is more frustrating.
If there's no fix, I will not continue to pay for a service that doesn't work. I've been quiet for over 5 months, and you people have done nothing to fix this issue.

Yeah I still have this problem! Please fix!

On my windows 8 it is the opposite: even if I click "close" a zillion times, Spotify keeps playing. It's driving me mad.

Now I use Spotify on my phones and deezer on windows, but syncing playlists is a disaster.
HELP.

(on the other hand: I might consider ending my spotify subscription in favor of deezer or one of these: http://www.techradar.com/news/internet/10-best-free-spotify-alternatives-943172 )

How can i sync to my Ipod on Windows 8 spotify it is so easy on my windows 7 but i purchased a new computer with windows 8 and it is so much different. When is Spotify gonna address the problems? Even the simplest things are difficult on the windows 8 version of spotify.

Hi,

Could you post a screenshot of your win8 Spotify? You might have the 'beta' version which is a glitch which sometimes happens in the download.

I'm prevented from creating new threads so I didn't know where else I could address this:

Whenever a new song starts on my spotify dekstop application (windows 7), the next song immidiately just stops.

I am crossfading tracks and also using gapless playback.

Are you playing local files?
