adding an album to playlist folder - have to enter playlist name manually

I’m using premium family, HONOR 7, Android 7 plus Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016) Android 7

If you are adding a complete Album to a playlist folder by three dots … adding to playlist … navigate to target folder … press ‚new playlist‘ you will get the name of the choosen album as suggestion for the playlist name.

Since several weeks I do not get this probosal, the name is blank and I have to enter the title manually.

Have checked all setting several times and now have no idea!??!?! Spotify is reacting identically on both Android devices.

Hey folks!

This is intended on the Android app. However, you can choose to skip the naming prompt and the playlist will be named by default i.e. 'My playlist 39'.

You can also support the idea to implement this here

If anything else comes up, don't hesitate to open a new thread.

All the best.

Hi @Juergen-53859, welcome to the Spotify Community!

In this case, can you log out from your account, restart your device and try to use it again? If the problems continues after that, make sure to reinstall Spotify on your device by following these steps.

Let us know if that helps.

I also have this problem since an update roughly a month ago, maybe a bit longer.

Minor issue, but quite annoying as I then have to go back through all the generic playlists and recreate them on a desktop.

Using Oneplus 5 Android 8.

To re-create:

1. go to an album

2. press the three dots in the top right to bring up the album menu

3. select "Add to Playlist"

4. select "NEW PLAYLIST"

5. New playlist used to default to the name of the album, is now blank.

I have attached pictures. (had to remove one of the steps because max attachments = 3)

Hi all

I have reinstalled Spotify with deleting all files without success in this bug. And then completely reinstalled my honor 7 (android 6) from zero with formating the additional sd card. Results ... nothing changed.

After that time-consuming installation word I contacted the spotify hellp dest chat. The guy seemd to be suprised about my explanations. But that stated, that this is a bug related to all android devices. The developer are working on a solution. And I hope, that they will find it soon.

Haven't encountered this issue before, you could try to re download the app and see if that fixes the issue or there might an issue in your keyboard settings.

Glad to hear it's an acknowledged bug. Looking forward to a fix.

This is a bad change. Please put back the old information again. No one will save an album with a completely new name.

Same issue with me. I also tried un-installing the app completely, but it didn't help. This used to work, it is a (very annoying) bug.

Two more threads here on the issue.
