[iOS][Android] Incorrect display of multi-disk albums in Your Music

Description:

When adding multi-disk albums to Your Music, after a period of time the order of the tracks is reported incorrectly on both iOS and android devices.

To reproduce:

  • Add a multi-disk album to Your Music from desktop Spotify. This report uses Pink Floyd – Ummagumma [2011 - Remaster]
  • View the album from the Album section of Your Music on an android or iOS device. It will show the correct ordering of the tracks. (CD1, CD2)
  • Wait a period of time (for me a day) or restart the application/device several times, the track order will now be incorrect. (CD 1 Track 1, CD 2 Track 1 etc).

Workaround:

Add album to a playlist for now to preserve ordering.

Additional information:

I'm having the same problem on iOS.

I found the problem with the album: Serge Gainsbourg - Double Best Of - Comme Un Boomerang

As a new Spotify Premium user who listens to a lot of classical music, I immediately discovered this bug. For works of music such as oratorios, symphonies, concertos, and variations for example, uninterrupted playback is nearly impossible. Is this issue seriously over 2 months old? Why has it not been fixed? It seems like such a simple, yet crucially annoying bug would be looked into much more quickly.

1. Desktop OS: Mac OS 10.9.3

2. Desktop Spotify: 0.9.10.22.gf87988f9

3. Mobile OS: iOS 7.1.1

4. Mobile Spotify: 1.2.0

5. Essentially, almost every classical album I come across, but here are some examplesLeonard Bernstein – The Leonard Bernstein Collection - Volume 1 - Part 4Philippe Herreweghe – J.S. Bach: Mass in B MinorEvgeny Kissin – Prokofiev: Piano Concertos Nos. 2 & 3

Android here. I haven't had the problem occur for some weeks now.

Just updated to v 1.3.0.1903 (iOS 7) and the album is now in correct order... Thing is, this issue happened after a couple days, so it remains to be seen if this is fixed or not...

It has now been several days since I updated to 1.3 and the problem has not reappeared. I did have to remove all of the multi-disc albums from my collection and re-add them to get the tracks to show up in the correct order, but so far they have stayed where they're supposed to be.

Hey folks, we haven't had any other reports of this happening for users. We also haven't been able to reproduce it on our end. We're closing this for now but please let us know if you continue to have trouble by posting in the iOS or Android help board, thanks!
