[iOS] Queue scroll is too fast and laggy

Plan

Premium

Country

Canada

Device

iphone XS

Operating System

(iOS 10, Android Oreo, Windows 10,etc.)

My Question or Issue

When scrolling the queued songs to adjust their order, the list will go extremely fast and become unmanageable. Very easy to lose track of where you are in the queue. It will also glitch and lag when you scroll for more than a couple songs.

Hey folks,

Thank you for reporting this issue to us.

We just wanted to let you know that the right folks are looking into this.

We're not able to provide an exact timeline for a fix, but we'd recommend always keeping your Spotify app up to date to ensure you're on the latest version.

Thanks again!

Hi there!

I know it sounds simple, but it's often overlooked. Could you try restarting your device? If that doesn't help, try a quick clean reinstall of the app. Just follow these steps.

If you're still having trouble, could you let me know the exact version of Spotify and the exact version of the operating system you're running?

I'll see what I can suggest next!

I have tried the restart before and it hasn’t helped. I am holding off on deleting the app and reinstalling because i’d rather not download all my music again... If this is an issue that no one else has I’ll consider it.

If you can’t think of any solutions other than deleting the app I will just have to choose whether or not I wanna go through and re download.

Thanks for the quick reply

Hey @cj_10,

Could you try updating to iOS 12.2?

Also, try using the Sign Out Everywhere and Remove Offline devices from your Spotify account page.

Please note that the second option will remove the downloaded songs but their cache will remain so you can easily download them with just turning on the download switch.

Let me know how that goes 🙂

I have tried all your suggestions (including deleting and reinstalling) and I am still experiencing the issue. I want to note that this has been an issue for at least 6 months and I have kept spotify updated to the latest software for that duration. I've been hoping for a fix in the updates.

I have attached a screen recording of the issue.. hopefully it opens

Update:

I just checked and the same issue happens on my girlfriend’s phone as well. Probably an issue on spotify’s end.

Hey there,

We've seen some reports on the play queue behaving strangely. If you're also experiencing this, make sure to:

Also, make sure to add a +Vote, and let us know the following:

  • Device and OS
  • Spotify version
  • How long it's happened
  • Screen recording if possible
  • Try another device and tell us if the same thing happens

Thanks!

Jemi

Hey @cj_10,

Just to confirm, what OS version do you have now? Did you update it? And are you experiencing this on other devices and network connections?

Thanks!

cj_10

Hey @Jemi

I am running this current software

Spotify Version 8.5.1.1085

iOS 12.2

Reinstalling Spotify did not work

This has been an issue for at least a couple of the last major updates. Definitely since ~November 2018 (when I first noticed the issue)

This is only an issue on the Spotify mobile app

I have witnessed this happening on my phone and my friends' phones (they are all iphones)

I experience this issue on all network connections

Hey there @cj_10,

There's a newer version of the app available. Just to confirm, does the issue still persist after updating?

If so, it'd be helpful to let us know, as well as the version of the app you end up with, so we can pass this on to our tech teams.

Thanks!

@Katerina

I updated today (May 25 2019) to software 8.5.7.601. I am still experiencing the issue.
