My Question or Issue

I really like the new permanent 'Now Playing' view on iPad, but whenever I switch to a Spotify Connect speaker, the track title and most controls disappear, leaving only the album artwork, play/pause and prev/next. Best seen in the screenshots below. Would be nice to see this fixed for quick access when playing on another device.

Issue should be fixed!

Be sure to do a reinstall if this is not the case. Here's how.

Hi there!

I know it sounds simple, but it's often overlooked. Could you try restarting your device? If that doesn't help, try a quick clean reinstall of the app. Just follow these steps.

If you're still having trouble, could you let me know the exact version of Spotify and the exact version of the operating system you're running?

I'll see what I can suggest next!

Restarted and did a clean install, the problem remains. Oddly, it seems to occur only when playing on my Bose SoundTouch 20 via Connect, not when choosing an iPhone or MacBook. iOS 13.1.2, Spotify 8.5.26.893.

Hey @JHMaster,

Could you share screenshots when using connect with your iPhone or Mac and with your Bose SoundTouch 20?

Currently you can access the repeat, shuffle, the title along with the progress bar if you tap the album artwork on the left (could you also share screenshot of what you see there).

Thanks 🙂

We've received reports that some of the controls disappear when connecting to a Spotify Connect device. We also found that for other devices this does not happen.

If you are experiencing this issue, please let us know the following:

  1. Which iPad you are using
  2. iOS version
  3. What device and which OS this device has you are connecting
  4. Also let us know if the control remain the same or if some of the controls disappear

We'll look into this and let you know as soon as we know more.

Thanks and have a nice day!

Hey @JHMaster,

Thanks for providing the above info.

Could you confirm that this occurs when updating to iOS 13.1.3 and Spotify version 8.5.28?

Once we have your confirmation, we'll pass it on to the right team.

Thanks! Keep us posted 🙂

JHMaster

Yes, the problem persists on iOS 13.1.3 and Spotify 8.5.28.

I too have this problem which appeared only after most recent OS update.  Ipad Air 2, OS 13.1.3.  Appreciate that I learned in this thread that I can tap on album cover to repeat, but would prefer not to have to work so hard for that.  Additionally I would REALLY like to be able to set repeat as a default thru settings.
