Hey @lomtftl!

Thanks for the info. You could use Spotify through a VPN, but we cannot guarantee that all content it's going to work, as we don't quite support this type of connection. Connecting through a VPN will mask your IP, showing that you're accessing through a different country. If the content you're trying to watch is not available in that country, you'll get the "Content not available in your location" message. This comes down to legal agreements regarding location with the right holders.

Due to the above we'll be moving this post to the "Not an issue" section. If you need help with something else, feel free to create a new post.

Cheers!

Hey @lomtftl and welcome to our Community!

Can you let us know the operating system and Spotify version you're running? Also, it's not ideal, but the exact steps here should help out: https://support.spotify.com/article/reinstallation-of-spotify/.

Keep us posted.

Hello Erika here is the annoying video error message screen shot Running spotify 1.0.65.320.gac7a8e02 on  Mac OS 10.10.5 just installed fresh version which has to be done every few months because it takes forever to startup spotify due to cache But I found the cause for the problem of Videos not playing in spotify playlist Rock This The answer is I have to turn off my VPN and then they play fine. which I guess is the reason it says cant be played in my location. You really need to fix that glitch because in reality all of your Prmium subcribers should be using a VPN for very important security reasons But again what is the purpose of putting Video content in a audio playlist? Let's keep those to just Video Playlists Let's fix the Mac OS Spotify slow startup cach problem and lets's fix the VPN video not able to play issue. Thank You for your support.VideoError.jpg

Leonardo, I think you completely misunderstood what the poster is saying, the problem is the playlist stops... if we cannot play a specific video on a playlist, just skip it and go to the next available track, like you do for audio only, why stop completely?!?

Edit: The page layout hides comments so my reply might seem a bit off, but the case still stands for me, please don't stop the playlist just cause you hit a video you cannot play, I don't use any VPN, I'm just in a country where videos aren't available yet.

@Leonardo This is an issue, as the commentor before states. I'm betting that the song (audio only) does not have these restrictions.... So the application should first fallback to the audio track, if this is not possible you should skip the track, instead of interrupting playback. Please could you fix this.

I hit this all the time. You should at least SKIP to the next song. At the moment the whole music service stops waiting for something ??? Not sure what. Just SKIP to the next playlist song.

Wait, the "solution" is to play Spotify through a VPN?
You know you have mutated and messed up your product beyond what it was intended to do when users have to utilize external tools just to use it.

Prepare yourselves Spotify, users are quick to jump to a competitor, and this video nonsense has us all looking at the greener grass in other services.

Act fast or prepare for disaster.

Spotify you are d"*$#s.  This is a big issue.  Do you read other threads - there are many threads complaining about videos that dont work under certain circumstances and cause a playlist to just cease.  STOP forcing videos on us!!!

I’m joigning to the previous comments because I’m also concerned by this glitch.

This is a new problem for me ; I never encounter this kind of issue few weeks / months ago.

Moreover, I’m NOT using a VPN connexion !

But I keep getting this message, and the Leonardo reaction is clearly inappropriate.

As already said by someone else, we are customers and we havé the choice to move to others similar plateforms. And that what I’m preparing to do now, not speaking to do it but doing it. Let’s have a try with the Apple solution.

Couldn't you at least auto skip onto the next song? It's a very frustrating issue and happens a lot, most curated playlists are useless now while travelling and at the office where they automatically VPN traffic out their own endpoints.
