Cannot connect to Chromecast under any circumstances

Neither Android nor iOS will connect to Chromecast. Problem began last week that we noticed. Standard "troubleshooting" FAQ is of zero help.

The app seems to time out after attempting to connect.

Same issue here. I see the spotify logo with the loading 'dots' then it goes right back to my chromecast wallpaper.

I was hoping for a solution from the community, but Spotify responded quicker. They had me log in to their test account, which caused the app to crash. After successfully logging in to the test, I was able to get it to connect. Logging back in to my account caused another crash. After I logged in to my account again, I was able to connect. I am however, having the problem again. They thought it was related to the cache being corrupt, but I cleared just that and logged back in again. Still issues.

same issue here, I dont have a premium account though, I wonder if Spotify is going to paywall streaming through chromecast
