Drop outs on new Android phone

 I just upgraded from a Note 3 to an A5, and have noticed severe dropouts in playback but only when I have mobile hotspot enabled. I never experienced this problem on my old phone. It's not a network issue because I am playing back locally cached songs, but that's what it sounds like - continual small interruptions. This bascially means I can't both use hotspot and listen to music when I'm travelling. Any suggestions for a fix would be appreciated.
