My Question or Issue

Music suddenly stops playing after the current song ends, it can happen after listening to the 5th, 6th, etc. song on a playlist. It happens on both the app and the quick menu access. I already installed the app again, and linked my account again and it still won't work correctly. It was working perfectly fine a week ago

My Question or Issue

I usually have music on when I game, lately I'll put my library on shuffle and after about 3 songs it just stops playing. I've checked that I'm connected to the network, I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app and I've even logged out of my account and signed in again and for some reason it's still not working.

Hi everyone,

We haven't heard from you in a while. If you're still experiencing this issue, be sure to drop a comment with the following info:

  • Exact Spotify version on your PS4
  • Does this only happen when an ad starts playing?
  • What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?
  • Can you share a screenshot or recording of the issue?

Once we have that, we will pass it on to the relevant team, who will look further into it.

Thanks!

We had tried re-installing the app, restarting the console and un-syncing
it from our other account. Nothing worked for weeks and then suddenly after
I posted the issue resolved spontaneously.
I will keep the recommendations in case it happens again.
Than you.

Hey there @JavoYugo,

We really appreciate the update, glad to hear that all's working as it should once more!

Don't hesitate to give us a shout if there's anything else we can help with, we'll be happy to lend a hand.

Have a lovely day 🙂

Hey there folks,

We haven't heard from you in a bit.

Just to confirm, are you still experiencing this?

If so, it'd be really helpful if you could share the requested details on top of adding your +VOTE:

  • Your device's details
  • Exact version of the app on your PS4 device
  • Does this only happen when you listen to ads?
  • The TS steps you've tried so far - we've shared some here.
  • Any screenshots or screen recordings of what happens would be helpful - just make sure that there's no sensitive or personal info displayed.

We'll be keeping an eye out for your replies, thanks 🙂

Hey there,

The problem suddenly stopped within a day or 2 of my posting the issue.
After all the turing it off/on again, un-syncing, uninstalling and
re-installing and logging in/out, just time fixed the problem? I'm not sure
how, maybe there was an update, but things are working for now. I'll let
you know if anything changes,
Thank you for the help,
Aleks

Hello.

In my case, I did nothing special to fix besides things like sync/unsync, reinstalling, etc. At first, the problem persisted, but, at some point since I posted here, the bug has been ocurring with significantly lesser frequency. When it occours, I smash the buttons as always and the music goes.

I didn't do anything at all different. Within about two weeks of the original post i made about my issue, i stopped having the issue. So all good on that issue for me.

Hey there folks,

Since you confirm that this is now working as it should and we haven't received new reports after we asked for more info, we're moving this thread back to the Help Boards.

If you come across this issue in the future, could you first try these, if you haven't already:

  • Restart the app
  • Reinstall the app on your PS4
  • Unlinking and then re-linking your Spotify account
  • If possible, try with a different account to see if that helps
  • Try a different internet connection
  • Switch the MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit) in Internet Settings to 1450 - keep in mind that you can always reset this value if it doesn't.

If your issue persists, feel free to create e new topic in our Help boards.

Hope this info is helpful but don't hesitate to give us a shout if there's anything else!
