Roku Channel - button press double skips selections

When scrolling through menus / items on the Roku channel, each button press on the remote causes the selection to double skip. 

I have tried two remotes - the one that came with the device, and a universal remote. I also tried taking the batteries out of each when trying the other, in case there was some interferrence.

This doesn't happen all the time, only periodically.

My Roku is model 3100X.

This problem has gotten worse. It's now skipping two to three items with each button press. This is happening using the official Roku remote, and our universal. 

It's very frustrating trying to search or do anything.

While rebooting the ROKU does solve the imminent issue, this tends to be a problem periodically though and is quite frustrating.  This doesn't happen in any other Roku App, just the Spotify App on Roku.

I have had the same problem repeatedly - thanks for this solution, although it's still a pain in the neck, it DOES work.
