My Question or Issue

The songs I have selected are interrupted mid-song, and a random rap song that I have never heard of begins playing. How do I prevent this?

Hey there,

Does the same thing happen when you play the exact same song again?

Thanks 🙂

Hey @tufan.

Thanks for getting in touch!

It sounds like another user might have gained access to your account. Perhaps you forgot to log out somewhere and it's just a friend that likes hip hop! You can find out here what to do in this case.

Hope that helps! Let us know if you have further questions.

Have a nice day.

Hi,

It happened to me on both devices, even after checked out all devices & changed password.

Device: MacBook Air (Retina, 13-inch, 2020) & Pixel 3XL
System: MacOS Catalina ver. 10.15.7 & Pixel 3XL Android ver 11.

any suggestion how to solve the problem? Thank you

Hey @hollieCC,

Thanks for searching for the answer you need here.

In this case it's a good idea to go ahead and secure your account using the instructions in this Support Page. Don't forget to change the password for any service associated with your account, such as your email address, Facebook, or Apple.

We recommend that you also have a look at all third party apps that have access to your Spotify account and remove any you don't recognize. You can learn how to do this here.  For the other ones you should update the login info as well.

If the issue persists, could you let us know if there is a specific song or songs that always play or random one? If it's the former we'd appreciate it if you share a link to them. We'll make sure to check them out from our end.

Hope this helps. Keep us posted how things work out.

I wish I knew what to tell you. My problem self-resolved after a few
days, maybe a week or so. I never figured out the source of the problem or
how it got fixed.

Hey @tufan

Thanks for your reply.

We're happy to hear that you're no longer experiencing this issue.

If anything else comes up, you know where to find us.

Have a nice day 🙂
