Spotify Canada free w/commercial edition works on all devices in Canada except Amazon Alexa

My Question or Issue

This may have been asked before but I couldn't find the information.

I am just curious as to why the Free version of Spotify in Canada works on all devices (even Google Home) but the only version of Spotify that works on Amazon Alexa in Canada is the Premium version.

It is obvious that if the Premium version works on Alexa, then the free version w/commercials works too.  

Is this Spotify Canada doing or Amazon ?

This is not a Canadian thing.

Free is only supported on Google Home, for now.
