Spotify Premium on Philips Fidelio only offers a very limited functionality ?

Hi,

Signed up for Spotify Premium in order to use on my PHilips Fidelio systems (AW1000, AW5000). Using Spotify on PC or andriod, i get a whole bunch of features, eg. "Featured Playlists"  categories suggestions, Highlights, News, etc. These features are also available in the standard Spotify free of charge.

The apparent deal with PHilips is that the Premium package is required. However, Spotify Premium on PHilips Fidelio seems to offer only a very limited basic set of features: Search, and Own Playlist. So for example the "Featured Playlists" - which I like - are not available.

Is this normal or am I missing something ? Else I better cancel my subscription.

That sounds about right, the partner applications such as for Smart TVs are pretty basic compared to the official Spotify clients as they are normally built on top of libspotify and developed mainly by the partner company. Those apps require premium as they can only stream at 320kbps which is a premium feature.
