Spotify Web Player keeps pausing and requires multiple page refreshes to resume playback

I have been using the spotify web player (open.spotify.com) for the last few months with no issues, recently however playback keeps pausing half way through a playlist (always inbetween songs) 

The back, forward and play buttons become greyed out and selecting another song does not function until the browser is refreshed multiple times (at least 3 times if not more) - Music then resumes for around 15 minutes before the same issue occurs again, this is incredibly frustrating what can I do to fix this?

I'm using the Opera browser, however I have also tried Chrome and the exact same issue occurs.

Are you still experiencing this or was this a temporary problem?

If yes, could you check if there is a firewall or a browser plugin set up that might block the connection?
