Spotify app will not work on PS4

Background info

• Old Spotify account was linked to my original Facebook account
• Old Spotify account was linked to my PS4
• Facebook decided to permanently deactivate my original account
• Due to this I had to create a new Spotify account and have all my playlists transferred over (good looking Spotify)

Current day

When I click on the Spotify app on my PS4 I get a black screen with the green Spotify logo and a message that says "Error connecting to Playstation Network" When I go into the Account Management settings and look at the Link to Other Services there is no check next to Spotify like there is for Facebook (created a new account), Twitter, Youtube and Twitch but if I click on it I'll get an error similar to the one before. 

Last night I was chatting with Spotify tech support for about an hour and he was unable to help me. He gave me the link to unlink my Spotify from my PS4 but once I put in my login info all I get is a screen that has my email address and "Please Wait." I then tried chatting with Sony but the chat timed out while I was put on hold as he "researched my issue."

Has anyone had this issue or something similar? If so, what was the fix? Thanks in advance.
