Spotify dropouts with Chromecast audio

My Question or Issue

I have a set of 3 speakers that works  with Google home and got a problem when playing music from Spotify premium. After playing for 15-30 minutes I get “dropouts” (a few seconds of silence) and then the music starts again. These dropouts come more and more frequent the longer I play. It’s only from Spotify, it never happens if I play TuneIn radio. I also have the opportunity to use AirPlay 2 on these speakers and that works without any issues, but I can’t use the voice assistant off course.

What can cause these annoying dropouts, is it a Google Home or Spotify problem?

Are you using the Google Home app? Let's try some things first:

• Log out from the and back in from the app.
• Restart your device.
• Unplug your Google Home devices and plug them back in.
• Restart your router.
• Reinstall the app.
• Unlink Spotify account from Google and relink it.
• If possible, try with a friend's account and see if the same thing happens.
• Make sure that the firmware on your Google Home devices are up-to-date. For further help with this, we suggest that you contact the manufacturer.
