Spotify player will not play any songs that I have as a local file.

My spotify will not play any songs that I have as a local file.
Though, if it is NOT a local file, it has no problem playing the track.
Why is this? Is there something that I can do to fix this problem?

Make sure the file is supported, the supported file types are listed here 🙂

Hmm...
I suppose I should clarify a bit more...
If  there is a song on Spotify already, and I go to play it from the ARTIST page, it will not play only because I have it also on my computer.
EX: I tried to play 'Undisclosed Desires' by Muse, it will not play on my Spotify because I have it also on my computer (and it shows as a local file).

What do you mean "supported file"?
I mean, they're MP3s...
