Spotify won't start on Windows 8 64bit

Spotify won't start on Windows 8 64bit

Hi everyone,

Sorry to be of nuisance and just posting but I couldn't find the right area to post in.

I've been having some troubles starting spotify.

I've installed it, and attempted to uninstall it (won't work).

I'm using AVG and I've looked into the finer settings so that spotify is allowed to run but am still encountered with this issue.

OS is Win 8 64bit, when starting the program, as per usual the little seethrough box appears on the taskbar (ive pinned it).

Nothing happens, and then it slowly fades out.....

Hope we can find a solution!

Simon

Try a clean reinstall:

First uninstall Spotify and then delete these folders is they exist:

C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Spotify
and C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\Spotify

After that reinstall Spotify

If you can't find the folder, try this:

Uninstall Spotify: Start > Control Panel > Programs / Uninstall a Program > Spotify
Find your AppData folder and delete all Spotify data.
Start, run, type: %appdata% and hit enter
You probably see 4 folders; enter each and see if they contain a folder called Spotify. Delete the entire Spotify folder.
Restart your computer at this point.
Reinstall Spotify (download)
