Stop Spotify from adding songs to my Playlist?

I'm creating a series of playlists for road trips, etc. When I plug my android into my car and I select the playlist, I get a message that says something like ...

"Your playlist is short, so we've added some songs."

I hope to share my playlists with others, and I do not want songs that are not on my playlist to be added by Spotify.

Is there a way to turn this off?

If you take out a subscription, suggested music will no longer be added. The more tracks and variety of artists and albums your playlists contain, the fewer suggested tracks will be added.

thanks! is there a magic number in terms of when they stop adding? so if my playlist has 10 tracks, they will add stuff, but if it has 20? 40? when do they stop adding tracks?

It shouldn't actually add the tracks to your playlist as far as I know. I thought it should add suggested tracks to your play queue but not edit the playlist?

From my own testing, 12 different artists seems to be magic. 😉
