Streams stuck and lost

Visitor

Hi, I have a Spotify Artist profile (Oreazon). Our new song yesterday started to lose streams, they were almost 5k and then became 4k, on the app the counter was switching between 4900 and like 4200.

Then, today, It doesn't update anymore and It's stuck.

Looked on my Mac and the situation is the same.

The viewers are updated but the streams are not.

I don't know if It's a bug or something else

Hi @Oreazon and thanks for coming to the Community! 🙂

I noticed there isn't a date mentioned for when your new track was released and am wondering if it is already past the 7 day window for when real time stats are counted?
Per the Spotify For Artists Stats FAQ, real-time streams only show up for the first 7 days of the release. I copied a portion below, but am not sure if it applies in your case.

I hope some of this was useful and feel free to reply if it doesn't quite seem to help.

Have a wonderful day! 🙂

Your audience, song, and playlist stats are updated once a day at approximately 3pm Eastern Time. Days in Spotify for Artists are based on the UTC timezone (e.g. if you release a track at 7pm Eastern Time, there won't be any data for that release day in Spotify for Artists as it's 00:00 UTC).

The real-time stream count for your new release updates every 1.5 seconds. This is only available in the Spotify for Artists app and only for the first 7 days of your release.

Why don’t I see my real-time stream count anymore?

The real-time stream count in the Spotify for Artists app is only available for the first 7 days after a new release goes live on Spotify.

This solution doesn't help at all.  This same error has happened to me twice now.  We need a real fix unfortunately.

I’m having a problem where my newly released song, called The Promise, on my artist account, called Project A.N.D.Y., is getting stuck and won’t update. It had 210 streams and went up to 357 streams and then back down to 210 streams and now it won’t update! Is there some sort of bug in the system?

I Have the same problem! My live stream count was at 1.800, dropped to 1.500, is now always somewhere in the range of 1.500 and 1.520, going up and down. Super sad!! I sent spotify an e-mail, hope they'll reply. I was so excited to go towards 2000 😞

I am having a similar issue. I think the real potential problems are; how does anyone know if Spotify‘s counting is accurate? Is there any transparency? Are there any third party companies or oversight institutions with direct data access to Spotify data? Could Spotify potentially fake the numbers? What prevents a mass fraud from occurring?

I don’t think Spotify has bad intentions, but without oversight, something going wrong seems almost inevitable.

So I got the same problem. On my spotify profile Jone More my all time streams on this release got stuck after 6/7 days. But Also removed like 200 streams in a day. I am confused..

Hi, I had this exact same problem today where my streams have stopped updating and about 150 disappeared overnight. The album was released on the 8th (a week ago) so I can understand the live updates no longer happening but that doesn't explain the lost streams. Did anyone here find that this solved itself?

Currently having the same problem with my new release. Lost over 200 streams for no valid reason last night, personally I think this is just not good enough as us smaller artists work so hard to get our music heard and to have spotify remove our streams with no information is not okay.

So I released a song last Tuesday (today is Monday) so that’s 6 days ago. Spotify updates play counts at noon PST from what I heard. When you first release a song, play counts are updated in real time. Once you pass the 7 day mark it’s updated once per day. I’m guessing here, but I think what’s happening is once you pass business hours on your 6th day, it reverts your “instant play count access” back to a “daily play count access” so you appear to lose the plays you’ve gained since the previous day, but they should show up the next day at noon PST (equal time or greater than the last number you saw). I’m assuming this because I added up all my 6 daily play counts and it equaled 3785 (Which is exactly what it’s now showing) when earlier today it was around 4600. Not sure if this is your exact situation or not but it’s just what’s happening with me right now.
