Is this happening when you're connecting to Spotify from within the Google Home app? If so, make sure to get in touch with Google for further assistance.
If no, make sure that you follow these steps:
- Download the Google Home app and open it
- Tap the menu in the top-left corner
- Tap 'Account Preferences'
- Tap 'Media Accounts'
- Select 'Spotify'
- Tap 'Yes, Link Account'
- Log in to Spotify
- Authorise the linking of accounts
