Web Player Messages and Notification Buttons Gone?

Web Player Messages and Notification Buttons Gone?

I have a chromebook so I'm forced to use the web player. I noticed about a week ago that in the bottom left corner above my photo the "bell" and the "inbox" buttons are gone.

Questions:

-Is there a fix coming?

-Where else can I find these buttons on the web player?

-Have they abandoned the web player all together?

As of now I am left checking messages and notifications on my phone.

Thanks.

I have the same problem! I noticed my inbox button missing when I opened the web player on monday morning (I use the web player at work). I hope they fix it soon. 😞

While waiting for a fix, you can use this link to access your inbox:

https://play.spotify.com/messages

What about the notifications? New releases and so on?

Mines gone too! It was so frustrating, I thought I just couldn't find it and that I was going mad!

That is working for Messages but not for Notification. The notification Button about new relase (of artists I follow) is Gone?

I don't have a work around to access the notification feature. From what
I've heard online, Spotify removed the notification feature across all
their platforms as they refine their music feed. However they're also
cutting down on support for the browser player and focusing on the app,
which means we may not see any new updates to replace the notifications any
time soon (if at all).

They will not listen. See this post: Re: [Desktop] Bring back Notifications from followed Artists

No evidence of any change despite plenty of unsattisfied users.

I've asked the same question. Spotify said they were trying out new things, and one of those things was removing the message button. Unbelievable.

Thanks for the link! I just bookmarked it to my toolbar. I can't see why they're trying to make their service less functional...

Getting to messages seems to be completely essential to use collaborative playlists (clunky but at least it worked!).

Help! Allowed to use spotify at work but not to intall 3rd party apps. Have to use web browser or nothing. I was using the v.helpful work around posted before but something has changed and the URL (https://open.spotify.com/messages) no longer works.

Any ideas?

- Spotify, please stop messing about with the web player -

This doesn't seem to work anymore. Categorize as unsolved again?

Yes, perhaps that would be best. I'm not sure if there will be a solution for this though. It seems like it's pretty phased out for the indefinite future.
