Web player not loading: source map errors

Web player not loading: source map errors

Hi,

I am using the web player everyday at work. Recently, it seems unable to load anymore: the page stays completely empty. I am using Ubuntu 18.04, and I tried to use multiple browser (Firefox, Chrome, Chromium) without success. I also tried to empty cache/cookies, but it did not change anything either.

I wanted to check what could be wrong using the developer tools of Firefox. Apparently, the problem comes from 2 resources that cannot be loaded. More specifically, here is a log of the JS console:

Source map error: request failed with status 404
Resource URL: https://open.scdn.co/static/web-player.4bf4b07b.js
Source Map URL: web-player.4bf4b07b.js.map[Learn More]
Source map error: request failed with status 404
Resource URL: https://open.scdn.co/static/vendor.f1dc5e44.js
Source Map URL: vendor.f1dc5e44.js.map[Learn More]

Any idea what I can do to solve the issue?

Cheers,

Hey @knak_

Sorry for the late reply!

Are you still having this issue?

It looks like some network restriction might be causing this. You mentioned you're having this issue at work, so I'd suggest checking with your network admin if they are filtering out something Spotify-related.
I've also come across some pretty powerful corporate antivirus solutions that can do that as well.

Can you open other Spotify pages, such as spotify.com or the support site?

Let me know how you get on 🙂
