Hello,
I recently added an album in my album list (Elliot Moss - Highspeeds). After several weeks, most of the songs of the album are "unavailable".
Is it temporary ? what is Spotify Policy regarding the evolution of the catalog ? (official communications always claim that the catalog is continously growing ; but no mention of retired content).
paying a premium subscription if songs can be retired from the catalog at anytime is not very interesting...
PS : I'm using Spotify in France
Solved! Go to Solution.
The reason is that the artist or their music label has likely decided to remove it from Spotify.
The availability of music on Spotify is up to the artist and their music label.
Spotify has no control over what content is available.
Sometimes the album or song will be unavailable temporary, and come back again later.

i have a question about that...
there is a artist that was on spotify and i listend to his music in a playlist of mine.
now his songs disapeard from spotify and my playlist...
but if he returns, will his music return in my playlist too or do i have to go and add it again? and how will i know witch songs disapears?
i dont get it
Hey @glennhellemans
The songs/albums will still be shown in your library and playlists so you can keep track of them, but they will be greyed out and unplayable. Make sure to go in settings and check for the setting that shows unavailable songs. When you have the setting turned on, you will still be able to see these unvailable songs in your library and playlists but they will be greyed out.
If the music returns to Spotify, it will still be in your library and playlists, but instead of the song being greyed out, it should be the normal white text color and you should be able to play it. Sometimes when the artist re-releases the music it will not link to the song you already have saved and you will have to re-save it, but usually it should link to what you already have saved so that you don't have to go and re-save the music.
Hopefully this info helps. Let me know if you need more help.
