local files not syncing to iphone

i’ve downloaded songs from soundcloud, imported them to itunes, and synced the local files in. this worked and will play on my mac, but i cant figure out how to sync the songs to my phone. the playlist will show up on mobile but just not the songs. just wondering how i can get them on here, thanks! (incase this is helpful: i have spotify premium, iphone 7, macbook pro.)
