questions about spotify connect

 Hi,

I'm planning on buying a wireless speaker with spotify connect feature (say for example a Bose SoundTouch 20). I do however have a vew questions about how spotify connect functions.

1. Does spotify connect act as a remote control for the speaker, or does it stream the music to the speaker?

2. What device can I use to control the speaker? Does it have to be a smartphone/tablet or can I control the speaker with an convertable tablet/laptop that has a full version of windows 10 installed?

3. Does the speaker NEED the connection to an other device? If for example the speaker has programmable favorite keys, that can be proggrammed to a playlist, could I start the playlist without the connection to a phone/tablet/laptop?
