My Question or Issue

The web player is not loading. It was fine earlier but now it only gives the two following error messages when i try to refresh the page or access the web player fresh from the spotify website. I wasn't making new playlists, I was just listening. I've tried clearing cache, new browser. Any thoughts?

Same. Windows 10 (64-bit). Tried Chrome, Firefox, and Edge. Cleared cache, cleared cookies, tried incognito mode. Nothing.

Always either "502 Bad Gateway" or "upstream request timeout"

Hi guys, I've found a temporary solution!

For Macbook users: download the Spotify app in the Appstore

If you use a Windows pc, download the Spotify app in Microsoft Store.

You can stream the songs there. That will work!

upstream request timeout using chrome browser. phone working ok

On a work computer with no admin rights. Unable to install. Does anyone know of any portable spotify apps that can be run without admin?

Can you download files online? If so, go to: https://www.spotify.com/be-nl/download/other/ and download and install Spotify.

If not: you can check https://community.spotify.com/t5/Desktop-Windows/Spotify-portable-version/td-p/127856 for a Spotify portable version (flashdrive).

Hey there folks,

Thanks for posting about this here in the Community!

Just to confirm, are you still seeing the error message?

If you haven't already, we'd suggest giving it another try:

If you do, it'd be helpful if you could let us know some additional information, for example:

  • The browser you're using and its exact version
  • Does this persist when using the dekstop or mobile app?

Let us know how you get on! We'll be right here if you need more help.

Have a lovely day 🙂

Try clearing your browser history and cache and try again

When I tried logging into spotify i got the 502 bad gateway. Anyway to fix this so i can listen to my tunes?

Hey @CLiz,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community and welcome.

We had an Ongoing issue about the Web Player displaying the error "Bad gateway 502". However, this issue is already fixed and everything should be working fine by now with the Web Player.

In case you still have any issues, we'd recommend checking if your web browser has any pending updates. If not, restart the devices and try again.

Hope this helps. If you have any additional questions, don't hesitate to ask.
