A strange app had access to my spotify account

A strange app had access to my spotify account

I have a family account that I share with my husband. I am the owner of the account. Today he received an e-mail from Spotify flagging a connection in another country. I did not receive anything and we were not sure if the e-mail was legit. Then, I got to my Spotify account on my computer and in the apps that have access to Spotify there is one app called "Spotify Speaker" and the description being "Sportify service in AI Speaker". I found it super strange because it's written "sportify" and not "spotify", plus, I don't have a speaker with spotify as an app in it. I am confused, is this legit? What should I do? Nothing strange apart from that, accounts work well.
Thank you for your help!

Hey there,

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

We recommend removing that unrecognized third-party app, along with anything suspicious you can see under Manage apps. You can remove them with the REMOVE ACCESS button. If you're not sure about any of the apps you see there, feel free to remove them all, as you can grant access to them again if you want.

Afterwards, we recommend you log out everywhere. To do it, you can follow these steps:

  1. Go to your account page.
  2. Under Security and privacy, select Sign out everywhere.
  3. Click Sign out everywhere.

Note: Make sure you remember your password, as your account will be closed on every device in the next hours. You can update it if needed from here.

You can also follow the steps in this article to further protect your account.

We hope you found this helpful. Let us know if you need anything else.
