A way to disable Connect?

A way to disable Connect?

The new "Connect" feature seems like a great feature to use however how do you disable it?  I see its available with Premium. Does this mean I have to cancel my Premium account to get rid of it???

I dont like how when I start Spotify on my phone it defaults to my desk computer.  When I try to start playing music it always starts on my computer without me ever selecting my desktop computer.  I want it to default to my phone all the time unless I choose otherwise.  It was odd to play music at work when I wasn't sitting at my desk.

My experience is, if you connect to a desktop it will stay connected until you select the phone again or until it can't comminucate with the desktop.  Once I play from my phone it stays as the current player.

Are you saying that you play from your phone and then come back to the app later and it plays from the desktop, without having played from the desktop inbetween?

To answer your question: go to the Connect menu and select your phone or close spotify on the desktop and then it can't connect.

Hey @drrfp99 and welcome to the community!

Here's an unofficial guide for Android on how to disable Connect: http://community.spotify.com/t5/Help-Android/UNOFFICIAL-GUIDE-How-to-disable-Spotify-Connect/m-p/978...

No, I'm always jumping between my phone and desktop while at work but I dont always shutdown my desktop.

This is why I had a couple occassions were I walked away from my desktop with my headphones and thought I was starting music on my phone but it started playing on my desktop while I wasn't there!!!

Awkward

Thanks for the link Carina, but I don't see myself doing any of those steps. I wont do the offline mode since I don't download all my playlists and won't be installing an additional app to do this.

If Spotify won't give us this option anytime soon I'll save myself some money and just cancel my subscription.
