Ability to block or hide podcasts and artists

Having the ability to block podcasts you don’t want to see or artists you don’t want to listen to would be very helpful. I accidentally clicked on a podcast that I have no interest in listening to and I can not get it out of my home page. Being able to block it would be very helpful

please please please make it possible to at least block certain podcasts from ever auto playing. this is possible for artists but not podcasts. i am getting very tired of every time i listen to an episode of a narrative fiction podcast I’m listening to, the next thing that happens is a political news podcast I never followed, in fact never even chose to play an episode of myself, auto playing. I do want music playlists to auto play related songs and I do want podcasts I am following to auto play new episodes after each other, like new episode of podcast 1 followed by new episode of podcast 2, but I don’t want podcasts I never picked and aren’t even the same genre of content to auto play with no input from me.

Yes this looks very much like an attempt to force listeners to certain podcasts. If the monthly subscription doesn't bring enough profit, then raise it rather than force users to hear or listen stuff that they don't want to. This is a certain way to drive customers away.

Your exclusive podcasts are **bleep**'s incarnation and yet my starting page is full of this **bleep**! Clicking 'not interested' or giving 1-star reviews makes your spaghetti algorithms even trying harder..

Just downloaded and used spotify for the first time- listening to an RPG podcast.  The app autoplayed TUCKER **bleep**ING CARLSON after it.  There are interesting people to listen to on all sides, and then there are absolute **bleep**wits.  No way to set any sort of preference or block a podcast?...  I'll find another app.

Is anyone at Spotify ever reading these feedbacks and suggestions? Why would you not let paying users remove certain podcasts from their frontpage!? Why would you not let paying customers choose what they see!? This is a certain path to lose users and open opportunities for competing platforms that actually let you choose what you see. Can't wait for AI to make this better.

This is just blatantly incorrect? There is no option on the artist page that says “Do not play this” or anything similar. Does anyone know of an actual solution to this problem? Or should I just suck it up and switch to Apple Music?

This isn’t true. There is no button for “don’t play this artist”. There’s no way to stop certain podcasts from playing.

I agree. It seems that once I try a pod, it then constantly shows up. Some are outright offensive and I don't want them in my feed and automatically start playing

I loathe that every podcast I sampled and hated is now in “my shows” which I can’t get rid of. Inability to remove things makes me not want to try anything new, I expect better for $17 a month.

It's absurd that we pay for this service and are forced to look at content we don't want to see. I've heard down right offensive content on some of these podcasts and I don't really care about their opinions but the fact that you keep recommending me a channel that I can't even stand to be reminded of just makes me want to move on to a different service. And the pathetic response at saying you're considering this option just seems hollow. Put it in, it's a quality of life feature that will help our experience.

I'll be canceling my subscription if this isn't implemented soon.

Agreed. I've never listened to that f*cking tool Joe Rogan and in the middle of listening to a Song of Ice and Fire podcast, Spotify randomly decided Joe Rogan was what I needed. What a goddamned joke.

New user here.  Setup my account and BAM!  I'm hit with podcasts promoting political bobbleheads I already know about and detest. Searched and could not find a blocking feature... Why? 

The only thing i could do is mark two episodes finished and rate the podcast one star.  If there is there a better way, please share.

No way to do anything about getting bobbleheads out of your welcome
screen.  The "one star" method does not work consistently.  It's been
this way for a  couple years, and spotify has no interest in fixing it.

If I do not pay attention, I get podcasts I definitely don't want to
play if I don't manually queue content.

The way I see it without the ability to unsubscribe from podcasts (and the INCREDIBLY annoying auto play of exactly the podcast I DON'T want and in some cases NEVER wanted) I have three choices, in the order of how I'm thinking about taking action.....

1. Filter to just 'music', take every action I can to suppress all podcasts on my home page and use a separate application/website for podcasts. If that doesn't work....
2. Cancel my account, see how much I miss Spotify. *if* I do.....
3. Give Spotify one more opportunity, sign back up with a new account that has no podcasts subscribed.

It's absolutely disgusting that this isn't an option yet.  Stop shoving fascist podcasts like Rogan and Tucker Carlson in our faces.  Spotify is contributing to the downfall of our democracy by doing this.
