You will need to get in touch with Philips, Spotify don't make that application I'm afraid.

Thanks for quick answer!

Philips support can not help. That´s the reason i´m trying here.

As you can see Spotify and Philips working together but who his solving problems 😉

Have you tried the normal steps of reinstalling all of the applications etc.?

Following sent to Philips support dept:

Newly purchased Fidelio AW5000/10 (A5)
Airstudio+ No Spotify icon under "sources".
When you click on TuneIn Radio, the result is "can not find folder / playlist".

After several hours of testing, I managed to get up and running TuneIn but lost touch after 15 minutes and now it does not work.
At some point, even Spotify popped up under sources but after having logged in and tried a few minutes Spotify stopped working.

There is no problem to find the speaker on the network. Using wireless router ASUS RT-N66U.
It also works well when playing music from a Netgear server / hard drive connected to the router.

Have upgraded to the latest drivers / software for both the speaker, Spotify and AirStudio.
Have repeatedly rebooted
Have done factory reset a few times.
Have reinstalled AirStudio +
Have tested with Iphone Touch, Samsung Tablet 10.1 and Sony Tablet S - same results on all

Hi Ajac, I have the same problem and have tried the same solutions, have you managed to get this working since?

Sorry. NO!

The Spotify App made for AirStudio/Fidelio is crap.

Now using bluetooth with bad sound quality.

Please revert if you find a solution

I got it back working! I followed the instructions in a thread here, worked for some others there too: http://www.supportforum.philips.com/en/showthread.php?14198-AW9000-H5-80-S-cannot-play-Spotify-TuneI...
It didn't work first time so I did it all again but left the speakers off for a couple of hours after the second re-install. Got TuneIn and Spotify menu's back, just had to sign back in and reassign the hardware button presets. Hope it works out for you as well!

Just to add that I found it works best to set up and connect the speakers beside the wireless router rather than in their usual location. Seems when the signal isn't as strong it struggles to set it up but once eveything is up and running it works ok with a less than perfect signal. I've read somewhere that lots of wifi signals in the area can confuse it when setting up but the app has a section where you can look at all the local wifi networks that use the same channel as your router. If that channel has other wifi networks on it you can change the channel to one with no competing networks. Also if you have a dual band router it has to work off the 2.4GHz band.

Why does not Spotify work in AirStudio +? Anyone know? Philips Client could so far not help.

Spotify works partially on the Fidelio speakers. Use the search function under Spotify. For me it is impossible to e.g. play Spotify playlists on the speakers nor direct streaming from my iPhone.

I am very Philips minded, the speakers are excellent, but the support is more than **bleep**. There is no real solution coming from any question posed to support. They refer often to development, but there is hardly any development.

So the conclusion is that the software belonging to the whole range of AW speakers is very far below any quality level.

My speakers will leave the house as soon as I have enough money save to e.g. buy some HomePod's.

I Just contacted Philips about spotify being not supported in the airstudio app anymore. According to them this is because spotify cancelled the collobration with airstudio. Philips is now working on a work around. The combination of Philips and spotify was the reason for my initial purchase. This really is unbelievable. Can’t Understand this action by spotify! Really annoying..

Hi Michielvan,

I agree totally with you. Allthough I hardly can understand why Spotify would do that. You don't leave marketshare just lying there, so this is uncommon.

My experience and that of other is that the promise of Philips, that they are working on a work around is worth nothing. Allready for many months Spotify is unavailable and nothing happens. Other things that have vanished from Airstudio are the direct streaming of music from your iPhone and accessing music on an internal server in your local home network. It is basically CR*beep*AP....

My advice: Throw the speakers out and buy some decent ones. The support of Philips is below every imaginable level.

Cheers,

Jizkid
