Alexa skill no longer exists?

Alexa skill no longer exists?

I recently had to change my Amazon password which caused me to have to reset my Amazon Echo. Upon doing so I went to re-link my Spotify account through the Alexa App, but it keeps telling me "You've reached the end of Alexa's knowledge. Just kidding. This skill no longer exists" is this something I did wrong? Please help, I just want my music back..

Hey there @SlyTheSnake

Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community. We moved your post from the Ideas board to the relevant Help board, where it fits better.

We can confirm that the Spotify skill in the Alexa app is still available.

Just to confirm, do you see the Spotify skill in the Alexa app? If so, try disabling it and setting it up again to see if that makes the difference.

If you're not seeing it at all, try logging out from the Alexa app, restarting your device, and logging back in. It's also worth trying with a different connection.

Let us know how it goes.

I am having the same issue.
The skill is enabled, and when I try to open it in the Alexa app, it states that "This skill no longer exists."

Hey @erwinvandenbunderand @SlyTheSnake,

Thanks for posting.

Could you try reinstalling the Amazon Alexa app? We think this might bring a difference.

Let us know how that went,

Cheers!

I deleted and reinstalled, still not working

same here....

Hey there @Mogui1 and @diblik,

Its been some time since the last post in this thread. Are you experiencing the same issues as @SlyTheSnake
Here is some further troubleshooting you can try:

  • check for a Spotify update
  • Force close the Alexa app.
  • Clear cache and try again.

Alternatively, you can enable the Spotify skill from the Amazon website.

If this doesn't prove useful could you please send us a screenshot of what comes up your end. Also the operating system of your device and the version of Spotify this is occurring in and we will do our best to see what can be done.

Fingers crossed and keep us posted.

I am having the same issue and have done everything the forum recommended and nothing has worked. What shall I do? To where do I send the image of what is happening to? Thanks

Hello @lucasscala

Sorry to hear you are also experiencing this.

You can add attachments to the responses in the forum. We would prefer for you to send examples here so that other users can also see them and confirm if they see the same thing on their end.

Could you please also include the operating system of your device and the version of Spotify this is occurring in.

We will be on the lookout for your and other users responses.

Same problem here. Can't get it to work. It's really bad.

Hey @Cedric771,

Sorry to see you've been affected as well.
Please take a look at the last two replies from @Elena and let us know the requested details.
This also applies to anyone new experiencing this issue 🙂

Thanks for the help, folks!

Hey, I solved the problem. The problem is with the Amazon system. I recommend going on the message function to talk to an Amazon employee and they can help you.

Same issue here, with an iPad on iPadOS 17.2. Tried to restart the iPad and log out an in again on the Alexa app, but that did not help. Sent an email to Amazon via the Alexa app, hope they can help me as well.

So at least in my case the issue seems to be related to the device. I now logged into Alexa on another device, an older iPhone with iOS 15.8, and there I could access the skill. Disabling and enabling however did not help, also after that the issue persisted on my iPad.

Hi! I have tried through the link to connect the skill via web browser on PC and it worked like a charm 😄 thank you very much
