I want to have two different, custom radio stations that play two different types of music, but it's not letting me do that.
For the longest time, I only listened to my "starred" radio station which ended up being a good mix of 60s, 70s, and 80s music, heavy on the folksy singer / songwriter types.
Recently i wanted a change and created a "shiny happy people" playlist with nothing but 90s pop and alternative...but when I start a radio station based on that playlist, I just get the same stuff as on my "starred" station.
I thought maybe there wasn't enough depth to my playlist to get a good station going, so I started a track based station based on the song shiny happy people. And I got the same stuff again.
It seems that any radio station I create is just playing whatever I have "liked" or starred in the past, and not really based on the subject track or playlist that the station is supposed to be based on.
Is it just me? can I fix this? very frustrating!

Hey!
This sounds really odd.
Mind getting in touch with us at https://www.spotify.com/about-us/contact/contact-spotify-support/ about this? We'd be happy to help figure out what's going on!
It really was wierd, but actually it seems to be fixed now - last couple of days it's been working fine 🙂
Thanks!
