Thanks for posting this thread in the Community and welcome to the forum. 

As this behavior could be linked to some damaged cache on the particular device, to start simple with the troubleshooting and in case you've not already done so I recommend a clean reinstall with the steps here. It's more detailed than a regular one and often helps resolve different performance issues. 

Additionally, you could enable Audio-only streaming for video podcasts within Settings > Data-saving and offline to test if this will change anything when you rotate the screen whilst using Spotify. 

To help us with the investigation, it would be great if you could let us know the following:

• If this issue occurs with specific podcast(s).
• If you noticed when it started for the first time (was it after something specific such as an update for example).
• If the behavior persists on another device.
