Hey there,

Thank you for reaching out here in the Community!

Unfortunately, right now podcasts aren't available in Uganda, since Spotify recently launched there. Availability can vary over time and between countries, depending on agreements between Spotify and rights holders, such as artists or record labels.

However, Spotify constantly works hard to improve the app, so you may see these features available there soon.

Hope this helps clarify things. If anything else comes up, the Community will be here for you.

When will Uganda be able to enjoy the video cast feature and podcasts?

I have been a user for atleast a year and I was looking forward to these features when I decided to join the app and pay subscription. It seems I was fooled and lured into the idea.

Yes, Spotify has just entered Uganda but come on, that was 3 years ago.

I would like a solution to this issue most especially when you will fix this issue.

I really love the Spotify app and I would like to enjoy what everyone else in other countries enjoys.

This is my simple request.

I would not want to support a rival like Apple music just to enjoy a simple thing such as this.

Wake up call to management. ✊🏼

We need podcasts on Spotify in Uganda, most especially if we are paying for premium and being ripped off on something like this.

I feel you. It seems unfair…

but if I’m being honest, coming from the uk, and seeing how cheap Spotify is back home in Uganda. I was so shocked.

Spotify is about £13 in uk. - about UGX 64,000 per month.

here it’s UGX 10,000- that’s just above £2.

that’s significantly less than a quarter of most western countries.

I guess they don’t make enough to justify or pay podcasters with profit from our regions…

Sad but i guess that’s why. Hopefully it changes soon though.

But this is not about paying podcasters here, it's about ability to "SEE" Video content, I have alot of podcasts I want to watch, like the JRE, but for God knows what reason I can't, but my family in USA, make it make sense.

You could say that ... but it's the same exact price in Malaysia and Sweden and they have proper podcasts.

Please speed this up... I for one feel like that's a huge bummer

I live in the UAE and it's 21.99 AED here, which is around 22000 UGX and 5 Euros, yet I have access to Spotify podcasts, but when I start using my account in Uganda the podcasts and video features disappear. It's definitely not about pricing, they just need to fix this because what's the point of having premium if I can't enjoy my favourite podcasts.

When will this improve it's already 2024 and I can't access podcasts and it was my whole reason for getting a premium account. I don't even live in Uganda but just because I'm using my Ugandan bank account, I'm not allowed to access podcasts.

Hey Spotify, we need podcasts!!!
