Audiobook resuming from the wrong spot

Audiobook resuming from the wrong spot

I’ve been reading the same audiobook for the past several weeks and previously it would pick up correctly from where it left off when I plugged my phone into my car and hit the icon for it in “recently played” but lately it’s been going back to the same chapter, forcing me to have to unplug my phone and scroll for the next chapter. All the other chapters, including the one it keeps jumping back to are marked with the little green check mark indicating they’re finished.

What can I do to force it to play the most recent chapter besides what I’ve already been doing, which is not safe to do after I’ve started driving.

This is a peculiar outcome. You mentioned this is a recent occurrence so we would advise to check if there is an update available for the app. From what you mentioned, you are connecting your phone to the car via a cable, correct? Could you try to listen to an audiobook through another device to troubleshoot where the issue is coming from? The cable could be mixing up the signal, or the car could be recognizing the wrong information through the cable, we cant be sure so we will troubleshoot things further together. 

 

For now could you double check for an available update, if possible try to connect via another device and test through there and if needed try performing a clean uninstall of the app by following these steps here.

Hi there,

 

So I tried updating the app and also resuming from my phone (not through CarPlay) and it was still picking up from the wrong chapter. I then used the web client on my desktop (don’t usually listen to audiobooks on desktop) and it picked up from the right spot. Ever since, my phone has also been picking up from the correct place. Not sure why this happened but it seems kind of like something fell out of sync. I’d been having weird issues where the smart shuffle was giving me exactly the same sequence of music as well, which has stopped since then too.

Glad to hear that the issue got resolved, albeit with an unconventional set of actions. Just to make sure, you`re not experiencing it anymore, right?

When you pause an audiobook and close out the app, when you open the app again, it starts playing from the beginning of the next chapter. Need to improve the memory of audiobooks to start from where you paused, not the next chapter.
