My Question or Issue

I have subscribed to Wondery+ so that I can get specific podcasts early and ad free.  There was one particular podcast that I was able to link my Wondery+ credentials so that I could listen to the podcast before it had been released to the general public.  However, the other podcast, Armchair Expert, seems to have no ability to do this via the app.  If I am on my computer and load Wondery via Chrome, I can login and open a web-based player of Spotify in a new tab that allows me to listen to this podcast early and ad free, but I feel like I can't see anything to be able to do this via the Spotify app on my phone.  Is there a way to do this?  The reason I'm asking is because the Wondery+ app for my phone doesn't support Android Auto so I cannot use it to listen to things, and I primarily listen to Spotify in my car and I'd like the ad-free experience that I'm paying for.

I am having the exact same problem and can't find any answers....UGH!!!

Hey there @katrinabader,

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

Would you mind sending us more info about this behavior? It'd be awesome if you could send us a full description about this with as many details as possible.

On another note, and Just to confirm, are you using a VPN service on the affected device? If yes, we'd recommend switching it off to see if you notice any difference.

Lastly, does this happen across all your devices? Would you mind trying on the device of a relative or a friend and open your accounts there to see if you can replicate?

Keep us in the loop!

So someone in a Reddit sub for Armchair Expert linked this article and it helped me. I didn't realize it had at first but if you go to the show's page, you should see an option towards the top and above the current regular episodes to access the Wondery+ subscription benefits.

I think it's great that my thread is 6 months old without any assistance but someone posts a comment stating they're having the same issue and you're trying to help them. Glad I pay for a Spotify Plus subscription.

I will say that this issue continues for me. While I can access content from the show page via my phone, if I'm driving and connected to Android Auto I can't seem to get to these premium episodes. I have to start them on my phone and then connect my device to Android Auto. Kind of a pain in the **bleep**. I get that Wondery isn't really great by not offering an Andoid Auto app by this point, but Spotify should support the ability to play that if Spotify connects via Android Auto.

Hey @kasmith1017,

Thanks for your reply and apologies for missing your original message.

We really appreciate you taking the time to post the solution you found and sharing it here. We understand that not being able to access the episodes directly through Android Auto is not ideal and we thank you for pointing this behavior out so that it can be addressed in the future. We are always working on improving Spotify so your feedback is really valuable for us.

We're here if there's anything else you wish to address!
