Can't play any song on the webplayer, clicking any play button does not work

I can't play any song anymore on my webplayer. Clicking on any play button does nothing. I've tried using Firefox instead of Chrome, I've tried logging off and logging in and I've tried on an other laptop with Chrome.

Below is a screenshot of my webplayer, the play button on the bottom of my screen is just disabled. I can click on play buttons next to songs but they don't do anything.

Could someone please help me by telling what I can do? Thanks beforehand.

Hi, I may have had the same problem as you (for me Chrome/FireFox/Opera not working, but Edge was working), although I don't think I had the play button disabled. For me I was able to fix the problem by following @thepest solution here: https://community.spotify.com/t5/Desktop-Linux-Windows-Web-Player/Web-Player-not-working-in-Chrome-b...

It's as if the browser/web player is, for lack of a better term, "stuck". With the web player open, I played music with the Spotify app on my phone, clicked Devices Available on the bottom of the app, and then switched it to Spotify Web Player. The browser/web player started playing like normal again, as if it got "unstuck". If it's indeed the same problem, worst case you might need to fiddle with different devices playing back to the web player (and vice versa, also might need to close and reopen web player) to get it working again.

Good luck!

I don't know if my screenshot is added correctly so here is the explicit link to imgur:

Same here, advice welcome.  Have tried clearing cookies etc.

I have the same problem! 😞

Could someone help us, please? I've been having this issue for a couple of weeks now... Is something wrong with my account or what is this?

Same problem here

Not working with IE10 (okay, this is not supported anymore) and Chrome (latest version). We are behind a corporate firewall.

In the past I used this link to be able to play music with the http-parameter: https://open.spotify.com/browse/featured?http=1

This worked for some years with IE but not with Chrome (Flash blocked). Since some weeks it doesn't work with IE anymore but it worked on Chrome (without changes). The UI looked different at that time. Now the UI changed again and I cannot play using both of the browsers.

Well, this fixed it for me, huge thanks!

I opened my spotify app on my phone, pressed play on a song and it started playing.
While playing on the spotify app I opened the webplayer and a pop-up came on my phone asking to play on the webplayer or on the spotify app. I had to choose continue to play on the webplayer and now it works again. Thanks again!
