My Question or Issue

Can't seem to play any songs. When I press play, it just cycles through the songs in my playlist(s). Clicking on a random song and playing it gives me the "Can't play this song right now" pop-up.

I've tried re-installing, clearing out local files, refitting my mini-jack for audio, re-installing my audio drivers, turning off "local files" in the settings and simply restarting my PC a couple of times.

When I play spotify on my phone while my desktop app is open, it does track and I can pause the songs on my PC. But as soon as I "hand over control" to my PC, it goes back to cycling through songs or just not playing.

I've added a small video of what it looks like when I hit play on a playlist.

 

Hopefully someone can help!

Turns out for some reason my stereo speakers were set to 5.1 surround sound, which for some reason doesn't let me play audio.

I switched it back to stereo, and I got my audio again!
