Chromecast Audio and ethernet

I am having problems with continuous pauses using Connect with my Chromecast Audio from a number of other devices (e.g., Samsung Galaxy tablet, Samsung S8, etc.). I note from this community that this is a fairly common issue. I also recall someone connecting the Chromecast to their router using an ethernet cable and a Ugreen USB/ethernet adapter to maximise bandwidth. Will this work when it is not strictly "using the same WiFi" per the Spotify instructions? Is it likely to fix the problem?

Hey @PhilH2, help's arrived. 


It's always worth trying different types of network connections in order to pin-point the issue. You can try that if possible, and make sure that:

  • You restart all your devices (and speakers) by unplugging them and plugging them back in. 
  • You restart your router.
  • Your Spotify app is up-to-date.
  • All devices’ software is up-to-date. If you don't know, check with your devices' manufacturers for how to update the version software.
