Chromecast interrupts while music continues silently

I'm using a newly purchased Chromecast Audio together with both my iPhone 5 and a MaxBook Pro. I am experiencing the following issue:

Given:

I selected the Google Chromecast as a streaming device and the music streams as expected via the chromecast.

Then:

The music mutes while it seems to continue playing, since the minutes and seconds of the song keep on going. After a while, the music comes back on.

Expected:

The music plays constantly.

Since I exclusevly experience this issue with Spotify, but not with other apps, I would assume that this a Spotify-related issue.

Is anyone else experiencing this and might know a solution?

I have the same issue. Works on my home WiFi but not my work WiFi - which is what I purchased the Chromecast for.

same thing here, does this to me on both my 5ghz and 2.4 ghz networks at home. i have yet to make it through a single song....
