Curious podcasts on home screen

In the Spotify desktop app, on the home screen, is it normal to see the same set of podcasts promoted all the time?

The reason I ask is that most of the home page is usually content that is associated with my listening habits, yet the page seems to be singularly obsessed with getting me to listen to Nish Kumar related podcasts. (Not a comedian that I can recall paying any particular attention to beyond the odd TV panel show appearance).

Is this likely to be something pushed from Spotify HQ? Or something that is just being erroneously inferred from my listening habits?

Not really a major issue, as it's easily ignored, I'm just curious.

Well... maybe posting here works... after three months stuck on Nish Kumar, it's now moved on to James Acaster, about who I'm equally ambivalent. Oh well, at least it's a change of scenery.

Hey @bp64165285,

Thanks for reaching out.

On your Home screen it's possible to find both a mix of shows you've listed to preciously, as well as those that the algorithm thinks would be a good fit for you. These recommendations are based on a variety of factors such as your listening history, location or podcast that users with similar tastes enjoy.

If these recommendations are being an inconvenience for your, we recommend that you consider adding your support to this idea. As soon as we have any updates on the matter, we'll make sure to share them there.

Hope this info is useful. Let us know if anything else pops up.
