Denon AVR-X2100W - No Spotify Connect

Solved!

Denon AVR-X2100W - No Spotify Connect

Just purchased a new Denon receiver and everything is working OK except Spotify connect, it doesn't show as a device on the connect page. I can stream everything via AirPlay OK, but connect doesn't show. They are both running on the same network, but I wonder if there are any settings I need to consider for spotify specifically. I have tried searching the forums but haven't come up with anything so far. If anyone could point me in the direction of some help it would be much appreciated!

I have raised official request to Spotify .... it works like you described there is one device (company laptop) from where I can initate session and then control it from other devices as well (except PC where I do not see at all icon for spotify connect 🙂 ). Neverthless this really seems to be spotify issue and not AVR issue. Looking forward for response from spotify guys.

Im not sure how they always manage to screw connect up with every client update i dont pay for this crappy service!

Spotify get your QA together or hire community testers with different devices.

Kind regards

Spotify Connect has not worked right in a week+, devices are not talking to each other and nothing connects to my Denon X3100w. I use Spotify Connect with my Denon mulitple times a week and also pay $12CDN a month for this service. This is the second big outage I've experienced since I joined Spotify last May.

Kind of the same story with me. I have a Denon AVR-X3100W. I can start spotify connect from my Windows client (v1.0.24.104) and then I can go to my Android phone and use the Spotify client there to control my Denon receiver. And this works as long as the session is active.

But when I turn my receiver off and try to initiate the session from my phone again. It doesn't work. I can see the receiver, but when I push on it it says connecting and then nothing happens. When I go to my PC it works instantly. One time in like 40 tries or so it does initiate from my phone. Extremely frustrating.

I also have an android tablet. Same story. So it's no specific problem with just my phone. All my android devices can't initiate a spotify connect session with my receiver.

Since I can start the session from my Windows PC it's not a Denon issue because then I would not be able to initiate a session from the Windows client also. It's clearly a problem with the android client.

Please fix this Spotify. We all payed a lot of money for our receivers and are paying you monthly for your service so we should get the service we deserve and pay for. I wany my receiver just to work everytime I hit the spotify connect button on my phone.

I have had same problem about one week especially in evenings. I cannot find music or change track. I have Spotify apps in my laptop and ipad, iphone and android phone and the same provlen is existing with all devices. Now I am playing via Airplay and that works. Mayde I will test D.....er 🙂

By the way this is not a first time when Spotify Connect is not working. I feel that there is problems quite often...

Right now it's working for me. You should check it too, guys!

No. Just started Spotify, does not show any connect devices on the PC. Started Spotify on my smartphone, Denon is there. Redirect music via smartphone, Denon also is shown in the PC client. So, still some work to do for the developers...

Hello,

same problems with my Marantz NR1605.Receiver won't show up on PC. Via Android phone showed up, but no connection to receiver possible.

Switched my router today into dual stack mode ipv4 + ipv6. Was in ipv4 mode before. Now my router has two IPs, a v4 and a v6. All connect problems gone so far. Can see my receiver on PC and Android. Connection without problems. Let's see how long 🙂

Cheers

I'm still having problems with Spotify connect on my x5200w. The avr is
shown as an option but it doesn't play. Hope Spotify solves this problem!
It used to work. Not sure why this problem has returned. Disappointing
really.

There was a new  version of the Spotify client on Android today. I've installed this new version on my devices and with this version I can initiatie streaming to my Denon AVR-X3100W receiver. Hopefully this time it keeps on working. I also hope this new version solves the problems for the other people on this thread.

+1
Looks like the new android version fixed it. Too bad they didnt mention it in 'whats new'.

Mine was working the other day then was not tonight. I updated the app on my Galaxy S6 just then and it worked.

Hi, I was out of the city so was harder to follow up this, but same situation for me :

Seems that after update or whatever my tablet is working, my laptop is working and my desktop PC is again working too, seems that still have some issues with my phone, but in general it more likely work / does not work 50 - 50.
As a result I am going to close also my case opened with Spotify and will keep my fingers crossed that it will stay in this shape for some time :-).

So resolution on my side seems to be update on Spotify side and nothing done on AVR side.

Good luck with your issues, but as per forum seems that most of yours has been solved too.

Yes, Sporify seems to work but not so well. I have still problem changing track and adjust volume. Not good 😡

Finally? I now have Version 1.0.25.127.g58007b4c installed and now Spotify Connect devices show up from the start and the connect to the Denon worked without flaws. Lets see how long it takes them to blunder it again 🙂

I'm using it with an Android phone and now it is finally able to connect. The thing is, it is not stable. Sometimes the Denon doesn't show up in the list of available devices and I have to pull and then plug the ethernet cable for it to be detected. Someone experiencing same behavior? This thing is getting my nerves...

Since i bought the DENON AVR X3200W I have the issue.

First : i went to this forum and tried a solution => set off DHCP and enter manually the IP + LAN network ==> worked until this week

Then : i try to connect my AVR via wifi again, still with the DHCP off ==> doesn't work anymore

May be I have the same problem that you have. I thought initally that it was because i have switched the connection from LAN to wifi.

YATTAH!! It's working again!

I have just turned back on the DHCP and my laptop and my android can see it now.

Good luck guys

Wow! I was off Spotify for two weeks (my Kids were here during their Eastern holidays and conquered my AVR/TV :-)) and what can I say! Denon was recognized from the start, was switched on when I selected it and the music was redirected correctly! Could it be they got it right this time? Keeping my fingers crossed...

I have problem again with Spotify Connct. Sometimes the music stops and the playing will not continue. This problems occured first time two..three days ago. With Airplay everything is working fine. Why this is so difficult 😡😡😡
