Denon AVR-X2100W - No Spotify Connect

Solved!

Denon AVR-X2100W - No Spotify Connect

Just purchased a new Denon receiver and everything is working OK except Spotify connect, it doesn't show as a device on the connect page. I can stream everything via AirPlay OK, but connect doesn't show. They are both running on the same network, but I wonder if there are any settings I need to consider for spotify specifically. I have tried searching the forums but haven't come up with anything so far. If anyone could point me in the direction of some help it would be much appreciated!

Same problem here on x2100w, plays only for a few seconds..

As a possible solutions I changed the dns to the good public dns (8.8.8.0 / 8.8.4.4) with no luck.

Is this thread enough to have Spotify notice the issue? Or what is the best way to get a quick resolution? I'm new around here...

Happening to me in Canada it only started a couple days ago I'm on a AVR-S900W

Let's spam their twitter a bit ?
@SpotifyCares and explain your problem i tried no answer yet.
Kind regards

AVR-X1100W here and down as well. Hope this is resolved sooner rather than later...

There are three solutions.

1. Use, if this unit is supported, it's app.

2. Use an iMac set to use airplay as its output rather than it's
speakers. Works with Spotify and any radio website.

3. Use a piece of software on PCs called 'Airfoil' - this talks to any
airplay enabled device. Works with Spotify and any radio website

Of course if this Denon Unit (AVR-X2100W) isn't Airplay enabled non-of the
above will work.

The AVR X2100W supports airplay...

Well none of your suggestions are acceptable its clear that its spotify and their servers not being reachable correctly. I pay for their service and not for finding workarounds that give me basic functionality back which should be working anyway.

I appreciate your answer but there is little we can do at the moment besides trying to get their attention.
Kind regards

Same problem here on x1200w, in last week all was ok!!! !@#$%^&

I am having  the same problem as of yesterday. No music is played and it proceeds to reset my Denon AVR x2100W network card.

I live in Canada under Rogers ISP

Contacted Spotify support and got this response... anyone tried this path and had results to share?

I might just give it a shot!

Thanks for contacting us. Sorry to hear that you're having challenges with Spotify Connect. No worries, we're here to help you. Let us go ahead.

I've had a look and it shows that the offline cache for your device needs to be reset. We can help! What we’ll do is disconnect your device. This does mean you’ll have to re-sync any offline playlists on your device. If you agree. Please get back to us with your security details to proceed.
Date of birth registered in the account.
Postal/Zip code.
Three names of your private playlists.

How that work out for you?

I Spotify support told me raise was easy to fix... Just reinstall the app on the device I am running Spotify on... The result... No change... still not working.

I also tried to clear the cache as mentioned as another possible solution... No change... Still not working.

I don't think Spotify reads this forum... Contact them directly as well Denon otherwise they might ignore our problem.

Got a very quick response from Spotify support this time. Now they think it is my WiFi router settings...

The following Ip ranges need to be open port 4070:
78.31.8.0/21
193.182.8.0/21

21 is the prefix length.

I'll try this and report.

Also I contacted spotify but after all troubleshooting steps they gave up and asked to contact Denon.

They'll probably start pointing at each other, instead of solving this for the customer. This is a problem they can simply reproduce and is probably easy to solve. It seems that someone pushed a button a few days ago which he shouldn't have. Anyway, hope it's solved soon. Connect still works fine on my Samsung m5 speaker, but not on the Denon x2100w.

I think it's fixed! Just as sudden as it started. At least it's working now. I've changed my dns to Google public dns, but I don't think that did the trick.

Aaand... It's gone again 😢 Played like 3 songs and after that the problem returned.

I am not able to make the settings as described by Spotify on my router... Typing in one range makes it impossible to put in a second range for the same port... Well I am no expert on port forwarding but this seems to be a strange fix as everything has worked before the sudden loss of service last Friday.

Marantz has the same issue https://community.spotify.com/t5/Newcomers-and-Contribution/Spotify-does-not-work-with-Marantz/td-p/... Not a real surprise as they'll probably use the same software.
